A quick daily game to keep our station communication sharp.

Read the daily password from the hallway communication board, report it here, and earn points. There’s a $50 gift card on the line — and yes, I’m starting each week at a disadvantage so you can dunk on me.

How to play

  1. Check the board
    When your shift starts, look at the hallway communication board and find the current password.
  2. Report it within 30 minutes
    Open this app and submit the password within the first 30 minutes of your scheduled shift start time.
  3. Optionally change it during your shift
    At any point during your shift, you can change the password to a new one (keep it appropriate and easy to read).
  4. Watch the leaderboard
    Points are updated weekly and posted to the leaderboard so you can see where you stand.

    Josh starts each week at -2 points (yes, really).

Password guidelines

When you change the password:

  • Keep it work-appropriate (no profanity, slurs, or anything weird)
  • Don’t use customer names, personal info, or callouts about coworkers
  • Make it easy to read from the board (short-ish is best)
  • Do not repeat yesterday's password!
  • Passwords are NOT case sensitive and may contain spaces
  • If you can't think of a password, click the shuffle button and a password will be chosen for you.
  • Make sure you update the board so that the next person can enter the password. Failure to do so may result in lost points (to keep things fair for the next person).

FAQ

No worries — you can still play tomorrow. The “report” point is only awarded when it’s submitted within the first 30 minutes of your scheduled start time.

If you come in early, you get additional time to read the board. If you're covering someone else's shift you may report and change the password, but the you're points may not register automatically. Let me know as soon as possible and I will manually adjust your points for that day!

Nope. Changing it is just the optional second point for the day. You may (and probably should) change the password even if you didn't read the current password before the time limit!
